How The Simple Practice Of Drinking Green Tea May Possible Aid In Cancer Prevention

!±8± How The Simple Practice Of Drinking Green Tea May Possible Aid In Cancer Prevention

Cancer along with heart disease is probably one of the worst diseases today but new research in alternative medicine approaches are beginning to indicate that natural methods of treating some of these maladies may work better than previously believed. One of the substances that is being tested is Green Tea which has been touted for its healing properties for thousands of years in the Far East.

One of the reasons that there is so much hope and promise with Green Tea is due to its being rich in antioxidants which have been known to hamper the growth of cancer cells while ignoring normal cells. It seems from the research that is being done that if one drinks green tea in higher amounts it may help to prevent cancer from occurring in the first place.

Even though there have been many studies that seem to prove that green tea can be an effective cancer fighter the USDA is of course ever critical and at this point do not support the findings of the researchers. In fact they actually state that green tea does little or nothing to prevent cancer all the while ignoring all of the scientific studies that state otherwise. Maybe it's because tea is cheap and the big drug companies can't put a huge price tag on it.

The facts peak for themselves. When one looks at a comparison between Asians and people from Western civilizations the Asians have a far lower incidence of cancer even though they are exposed to just as many risk factors. The substance called catechins which is in green tea has been clinically proven to fight against tumors and green tea is full of the antioxidants that are known to protect against free radicals.

We are not stating that green tea is a magical cure all for everyone; it seems that some people simply respond better to natural treatment than others. If it were a magic bullet then there would be no cancer in China where they have been drinking it for thousands of years.

The best practice is to look at both sides and realize that neither one may be totally correct. Some companies exaggerate the benefits of green tea and make outlandish claims as to the health benefits which is why the FDA tends to be a little more closed minded than perhaps they should. It is definitely not harmful so it can't hurt to dink some green tea everyday, just in case.
